A few of our recent accomplishments:

Three Week Jury Trial - Defense Verdict against $30 million Claim by Exxon Mobil Corporation.  The ByrneLaw Office defended a small business against a $30 million breach of contract and negligence claim by ExxonMobil.  After a three week jury trial, a unanimous jury found that ExxonMobil should take nothing on all counts.  The Court then granted the firm's client its costs.

Bench Trial Court Judgment in favor of Burbank Mall Associates, LLC v. Georgiou Retail Stores, Inc.  The ByrneLaw Office represented the owner of a major shopping center in a trial for unlawful detainer and damages against a national retailer.  The firm's client prevailed on all counts and was awarded its attorney's fees and costs.

Summary Judgment against Exxon Mobil Corporation.  The ByrneLaw Office defended a Torrance, California  business against claims of breach of contract and fraud damages exceeding $300,000.  The firm's client prevailed on all counts when the Superior Court ordered summary judgment.  

Electronic Discovery Sanctions Against Exxon Mobil Corporation.  The ByrneLaw Office litigated several Electronic Discovery issues for over two years against the Exxon Mobil Corporation.  The firm discovered intentional destruction of evidence and requested  the Superior Court to enter sanctions.  After months of law and motion litigation, the firm persuaded the Superior Court to enter a Sanctions Order in which it granted a  mandatory adverse inference instruction under which it will instruct the jury that ExxonMobil destroyed evidence to prevent the firm's client from discovering it.  The Superior Court also issued a $100,000 monetary sanction against ExxonMobil.
